Wow, straight from Max himself:
"We're still in the peak of the season here, that goes for another month or so. (It) makes me think that not only will we have more storms and hurricanes, but we could have another major hurricane or two," said Max Mayfield, director of the U.S. National Hurricane Center, on CBS' "Face the Nation" on Sunday.

Wow scarey thought but we do still have at least six weeks left. I for one hope no other canes hit the US, I think we have had enough. Unfortunately you are probably correct and we will have several more storms and at least one more major cane. I am holding my breath till this season is over.

No Fraternity Row---we may get as far as Wilma, but everybody is assuming that the level of intensity that has gone on for 4 1/2 months will continue--this just isn't going to happen. It would be a statistical and scientific long shot-- 3-4 more storms will put the icing on a very active cake, and let's stop the doom and gloom senarios. Have people not learned that the "numbers" mean nothing anymore? We've had a catastrophic season, especially for our friends in the Gulf.

No one is making any doom and gloom scenarios.
No offense but last month when someone I know downplayed "doom and gloom" scenarios, Katrina and Rita happened.
So there is nothing wrong with forecasts calling for very intense hurricanes
during October especially with MJO and untouched carribean ssts and intense energy in carribean oceans.
