This is a touch left of the previous forecast, taking it south of most of Hispaniola and across western Haiti. This could allow for the storm to strengthen to 50kts, but I level off intensity after 45kts as a compromise between staying over water and increasing vertical shear. Acceleration northward expected as Alpha converges with Wilma from the southeast and merges with it by Day 4.
