I hope the shelters will be open for the homeless. I am assuming with the tropcial storm warnings for our area that they would be.
Monday Night: Clear, with a low near 54. North northwest wind between 13 and 21 mph, with gusts as high as 51 mph.
Windchill with a temp of 54 and a gust of 51 is 31 degrees!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Frankly, I just don't think its going to get to 54.

Who would've ever imagined this: A hurricane hits you, there is no electricity and instead of sweating in the heat....we will be freezing in the cold..lol...and YES! if it is below 70 degrees we Floridians are freezing cold! Well at least when it's cold with no electricity we can bundle up and our neighbors won't stink.

No wind chill warnings needed... those 20s wind chills stated above are from an incorrect formula. The official NWS formula that calculates wind chill better would provide these results...
http://www.csgnetwork.com/windchillcalc.html
50 degrees with a wind of 35mph = wind chill of 41
50 degrees with a wind of 40mph = wind chill of 41

LOL! I hear ya gunner... the past few days our highs have been in the mid 40s. Far from winter. Winter is when there is a foot or two of snow on the ground and the lows are below 0°F. I guess it's all a matter of opinion.gunner1551 wrote:Scorpion wrote:Going to be quite hypothermic outside. 55 out, raining, strong wind. Thats how winter should be.
