A message to my fellow Central Floridians..

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

A message to my fellow Central Floridians..

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Sun Oct 23, 2005 4:57 pm

I just wanted to take a second and send a message to anybody that lives in Central Florida {west or east side}

Even though it looks right now like Wilma's eye will not directly come this way. It could get dangerous throughout tonight and early tomorrow.

The threat for stronger winds and especially tornadoes is increasing across my area I'm sure as well points to my west and probably even to my north.

Please stay safe. If you absolutely can afford to take a day off tomorrow.. You may wanna go ahead and do it because it's gonna be a very wet, windy, and damaging {at least to trees} day.

Remember.. the forecast track could still shift {even though it's not likely} so be prepared for the possibility worse conditions than are already expected.

Stay safe. Enjoy the storm.. and lets' all get through it together.

Dear John,

If you start another redundant thread that I have to weed through, I'm going to have the S2K gestapo come and get your keyboard.

Love,
Raebie

I'm sorry, and I am really not being mean, but it is getting hard to go through all these new threads that you have started. Please keep it consolidated!

Is it so very wrong of me to hope that Central Florida loses power soon?

(I'm kidding!)

See, I'm not the only one bothered by this. It's bad netiquette, like posting in all caps. Please be more considerate of your fellow posters and the overworked moderators.

It's actually starting to make me not even wanna post right now.. I'm becoming increasingly fearful that if I even post anything somebody's gonna get smart.. or you guys are gonna tell me.. "why didn't you put that somewhere else.."

I thought saying a stay safe type message would deserve it's own thread.. I'm sorry if nobody tends to agree..

Please excuse me for wanting any of my fellow Central Floridians to stay safe..

I have no problem with the post, but it should have gone here:

http://www.storm2k.org/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=77176

There's a reason we don't start a new thread for every new piece of data on Wilma or every new advisory.

Oh, John, stop it with the dramatics. Just use your existing CENTRAL FL thread and nobody will jump on you! Why is this so difficult?

I'm beginning to think you're just craving attention.

I was not being dramatic  Just concerned for anyone who could be in the way of the tornadoes or strong winds or whatever.. :)

As I said.. I think we're all just tense, nerve wracked and we want this darn thing to get outta here and leave Florida alone..

I am not tense at all. Fight or flight is a natural reaction, but not a smart one, gets in the way of critical thinking. I'm sure most of the people outside of the direct landfall will be just fine. Florida building codes are strong, and its not the most impressive storm I've seen.

N 36 G 46 << max winds recorded in Orlando. I assume you made it through alright unless a twister came close.

Boy, you all are harsh....In the sticky up top...where is says everyone must read it states

"From the staff of STORM2K:

Recently, the staff has been having to deal with more and more rude, bashing, sniping and uncalled for remarks from members about posts made by other members. IT IS OUT OF CONTROL AND MUST STOP!!!"

It would be nice if everyone would read and abide by this, Just PM the person rather than bash them here.
