Hello all Storm2k'ers!
Living in northwestern Costa Rica this year I thought I would get a break from following the Storm2k and WWLTV message boards. Little did I know what a hurricane season was in store. Before I left for Costa Rica in January I was living in mid-city New Orleans for 6 years. This hurricane season has already hit home, and now it seems something is organizing off the caribbean coast of hurricane-proof Costa Rica?
I am living on the Pacific Coast in Guanacaste, Costa Rica at 10 degrees north. As the rainy season draws to a close within the next few weeks, we have already seen the rainiest rainy season in seven years since fringe effects from Mitch affected the area. An active hurricane season in the Gulf translates to a very wet rainy season here because those hurricanes generally pull their energy directly over the Central American isthmus. And we all know how it has turned out in the Gulf this year...
Bottom line, if tropical activity heads the way of Costa Rica (!), I will be providing updates to all... knowing our nearly daily blackouts in this isolated area, this may be difficult, but I'll do my best.
I type this to a magnificently-orange sunset.
Pura Vida!
