WOOHOO - I'm back! What'd I miss????

#1 Postby Canelaw99 » Tue Oct 25, 2005 10:38 am

Hey all! I'm back and I"m one of the lucky Miami-Dade County folks. We lost power about 6:30am yesterday morning and got it back at 5am this morning. We had no damage here to our personal property, although there's a lot of damage here in the Homestead area. I took some pics yesterday and will be creating an online album so I can share them with you guys :)

We drove up US1 yesterday and the majority of the damage is trees and signs. Most of the businesses looked to be ok throughout S. Dade from what we saw. About 90% of the county is without power, so it may be a few days before there is someone at the company to answer a phone. i don't have specific pictures of that area, but if we drive back up there, I'll try to get one for you :)

Jim - I'm not sure about that particular area right now. I've driven Krome through Homestead, and it faired pretty well - some sign damage, trees, minor stuff generally. I haven't made it north of there on Krome yet. I'm trying to not drive a ton until more gas stations are powered up so I don't have to wait in line. Once there's more power, I'll try to drive up that way for ya :)
