This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Will SFL get a hurricane 3 years in a row?

#1 Postby Blown Away » Thu Dec 22, 2005 1:02 pm

Since the late 1800's I think it has only happened once, and it was actually 4 years in a row (Stuart - Homestead)!
1947 - (Cat 4 SE) (Cat 1 SW)
1948 - (Cat 3 SW) (Cat 3 SW)
1949 - (Cat 4 SE)
1950 - (Cat 2 SSE)

2004 - (Frances Cat 2 SE) (Jeanne Cat 3 SE)
2005 - (Katrina Cat 1 SE) (Wilma Cat 3 SW)
2006 - ?

Odds are against it, but patterns repeat! The N Gulf and
SFL had alot of activity during the 30's and 40's.

Quite likely- with global warming we get more intense
hurricanes :D (grin about the global warming theory- not the canes). Hurricanes are
no reason to grin

"Sources point to yes"... Sometimes, like with Ophelia, you just have to go beyond the models and consult the magic 8-ball.

Yes, that would be me. It must have been a Friday or a weekend as I'm wearing jeans & tennis shoes. Got my yellow Florida Governor's Hurricane Conference shirt on. Actually, the magic 8-ball wasn't too helpful most of the time.
