I voted over 35mph, I think it was at least a 45mph storm from that satellite pic. I cant believe there werem't at the very least, tropical storm warnings up for the east coast of Fla :roll:

I have done some detailed analyses of this storm, and all the signs point to one thing -

TD 05L in 1997 was actually the FIRST RECORDED HYPERCANE - groundbreaking discovery folks....

More research will need to be done in this field, hypercanes can look weak and fluctuate in intensity instantaneously, it weakened to a tropical rainshower before hitting Florida thankfully but when one of those hits the U.S. - the damages will be CATASTROPHIC. Senor I'm hiring you to do research on these elusive storms...

yes...it appears at the time the sat pic was taken, winds were ~800 MPH...but this increase only lasted about 2 seconds...then it tore itself apart and weakened to the weak rainshower before causing massive evacutions in Miami...:lol:

I feel the best way to tackle this is build a time machine, travel back to 1997. Then "borrow" a recon plane (Senor shouldn't be a problem for you) and go and have a look yourself.
