My wife and baby will leave for anything higher than a Cat 2. I'll stay no matter what....it's just part of my job. I'll be safe though!

I had to comment. First, I don't know how you can even compare a 5 minute tornado to a 6 hour Hurricane, but... destruction is the same, but logistically a Hurricane is a bigger nightmare.

So, during Hurricane season people have to really think hard about when and where they will travel and how far away from home they want to get. How to leave the house before they go and pack everything they wouldn't want to lose if it blew away before they could get back. They also have to think about pets, and will the kennel they are vacationing in will care for them during a hurricane. Then there is the whole... planning for supplies and where to stash them and oh, lets not forget using up everything in the freezer so you don't lose all the food when you are possiblly left without power for more than a day.

Then the government is telling us to prepare for the Bird flu... LOL I only have room for one natural disaster in this house and I can barely pull the money together for a Hurricane.
