Great shear maps SouthFloridaWx. Shear is still pretty high across most of the Atlantic Basin but there are patches of low shear (e.g. in the GOM)

summer is almost here.. :eek:

The EPAC has pretty low shear not to mention the extremely hot water temps.

according to these maps shear will drop to almost 0 all around florida and the gulf of mexico at around 72 hours.
it probably wont mean much but if this were mid june or july then i'd be concerned.

Definitly a concern if this was during cane season, low shear and high temps in the GOM would cause a hypercane.

It is low shear but only for a short-time, then upper level winds pick up again.
