I'm just wanted to show everyone it's NOT time to give up and forget about hurricanes, here are some storms that formed around this time that caused some havok...

Not really a powerful GOM striker storm but a strong hit to Florida, this storm looks like it's following the GFS model in terms of track until the turn North over Cuba.


How much of a scare would this storm be?


I don't think I even need to describe that one for you guys..

Sure this one formed early but it lasted nicely into october, something to think about when you say the Cape Verde Train is over.

This storm would be terrible for us this year..
Other recent mentions are Rita and Wilma, both making landfall in the GOM after this date.
What is the moral? Nobody is safe, even in slow seasons a monster like Opal or Wilma can happen. The swath of landfall even into october extends into the entire Gulf. Keep alert, things aren't near the end.[/img]
