On a slightly more serious note, how are things, in general, looking for the western Carib. next week? I'm heading out with the fam on a cruise to the western Carib. Sunday and will be gone for a week, so I'm just curious if any models are spinning up anything there or not. I'm presuming not since I haven't seen anything on here about any future development, but figured I'd ask my fellow, bored, S2Kers :wink:

The '06 El-Nino pattern should save us from any Hurricanes in the western Crib. Typically nothing develops during that kind of pattern and if it did, it should be weak and sheared anyway. I will probably be getting on the same cruise ship the day you return. Also, models this far out are not even worth looking at, so I would not be too concerned at this time.

TY flashflood....which ship are you going to be on? We'll be on the Carnival Valor...should be a fun cruise as long as the weather cooperates

I'm sorry but haven't we heard that tune many times before this season? I think you need to note that it is now October 10th and not August or September 10th.

Also note that the season doesn't end until Nov 30th and the NHC did mention that this wave could slowly develop.

I will be on the Royal Caribbean Radiance.....Looking at the current Sat. the weather is sunny, hot and dry in most of the Carib. The Carib. has been mostly under subsidence and shear this season and it does not seem to be letting up anytime soon, so far it's looking like the the weather will cooperate.
