Last storm dissipated Oct 2

#1 Postby tropicana » Fri Nov 03, 2006 5:19 pm

This is preliminary so far, but the last storm of the season, ISAAC, dissipated on October 2 (became extra-tropical near Newfoundland).

The last time the season shut down so early was...
1993... when the last storm dissipated Sept 21.

That period was also EL NINO which lasted 1991-1994.

Just thought that this was interesting. The earliest end to the hurricane season in the Atlantic for last 13 years.

Wow- that's amazing. Makes this season even more remarkable since we had storms and hurricanes from last season going in to January of THIS year. What a complete mis-read on what the season was supposed to be like. Not even close.
