The season will be cancelled if we get through June 1 without at least a depression. So not yet. :P

I say late June.

I'll go with the first week of July although I think anything that early will be a short lived depression or very weak tropical storm. El Nino is going to delay the start but despite gloom and doom predictions I think by September will have a lot to talk about.

Could very easily be the 1st or 2nd week of August. I'd be perfectly happy if we don't even get a tropical wave with development potential until August.

I believe that we will have the first TS after June 15 and before June 30.

Since 1960 (46 years) there have been only 3 named storms form prior to June. (not including subs) 24 years or about 1/2 the time there has been a storm before July. I really cant see a coorelation between early storms and active seasons. 2004 didnt see a named storm until August.

We are still much better at forecasting path of existing storms than we are at predicting season activity levels or intensity.

You can have everything in place and not have a storm.

June 25. My usual dart averaging method. I take a June calendar and throw five darts and take the average of the five darts. But in truth I usually hit the calendar with one dart. It happened to be June 25.
I also never accept a dart challenge, I concede immediately. I also only use June, using multiple months causes too much damage.

June 5-15th a tropical storm may form in the GOM with sufficient SSTs and possibly lesser shear...this happened in 05 and 06 with alberto and arlene. But maybe not, maybe in july.
