Hello Drezee,
Related to this topic is my post "collapsing cores and eye wall replacement". The researcher I mention is doing some work for NOAH about this. One aspect of this concerns insurance coverage. Now insurance companies use standard models to determine wind speeds damaged areas were subjected to however it is being proven that level 5 damage can occur in a level 3 storm because of these "H" winds.

Just to be sure please understand I'm not boasting or think that I'm in the know more than anyone else. I'll just say this guy and his associate know what their talking about and leave it at that. He has had conversation with some folks at the NHC and at this time they are very concerned about this season given the current atmospheric conditions.
