The Air Force Reserve "Hurricane Hunters" (a.k.a. 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron) are bringing their special hurricane-penetrating Lockheed-Martin WC-130J to Falcon Field in Peachtree City on Saturday May 26, 2007. The crew from the 403rd Wing, based at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi will be available to meet the public, and will be conducting tours of their aircraft between the hours of 11am and 7pm EDT.
Their visit is sponsored by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, and will be the highlight of "Hurricane Preparedness Week". Other participants will be on hand with exhibits and information related to the dangers posed to inland locations by landfalling hurricanes and tropical storms, including the Fayetteville Police Department with their Emergency Command Vehicle, the Red Cross, the Peachtree City Forecast Office, and the Southeast River Forecast Center. Carroll County’s Fire Safety and Severe Weather Preparedness House will also be on display for public touring.

Admission is FREE. Parking is FREE. After parking, walk to the left side of the airport terminal building to gain access to the exhibits, aircraft, and crew.
