Happy Atlantic Season 2007 to everyone. I too, hope it's a safe season for all!

Hopefully Andrea hasn't set the tone for this year. I wonder if 4 of the 5 deaths mentioned in TWO today were from a boat enroute from VI to Annapolis. Does anyone know? I can't find a report on Andrea by NWS yet.

The experienced crew probably encountered the pre-Andrea low pressure system's hurricane-force winds and 40+ft waves enroute. An EPIRB signal was received, but the boat and crew were never found in an exhaustive USCG effort, which included rescue of others whose boats went down in the same storm. RIP

Lets hope for another quite season folks and remember its not the number of storms that form that matters its the ones that make landfall that have the greatest impact.

Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

Welcome to Hurricane Season (officially, although Andrea had different plans).

While monster storms are rare this early, it is a good time to get ready. Everyone in hurricane country should be prepared for a Katrina and hoping for nothing but fishies and duds like last year.

The North Texas region is now prepared for another 2005-like season.
