Hey guys i found this article from stu ostro back in july of 06 on some history on la nina events and the possibility of increased hurricane activity.

A few years ago, Dr. Lyons and I took a look at the data and what we found suggested that it's not so much La Nina which enhances tropical cyclone activity, it's the lack of El Nino, which tends to be an inhibitor due to increased wind shear and sinking air in the tropical Atlantic basin. That's suggested by neutral seasons (no El Nino or La Nina), which have in general also been active.
