Looks quite dead across the Tropical Atlantic and Africa. Development unlikely over the next 5-10 days.

I know we're all bored, but as MGC said sooner or later the waves will come of Africa and survive. Hey, even if they don't do it in the Atlantic they'll make the EPac (like the wave that led to Alvin).

thats no fun though LOL :)

Climatologically speaking, things are going to get more active very soon....the 1st inning of this hurricane season isn't even over yet!

That means that the Atlantic will continue quiet at least until early August as conditions continue to be hostil unless the wet phase of MJO causes things to heat up earlier.

I don't think anything is going to form east of the Lesser Antilles for another month or so, it's just too hostile out there. I would be more concerned about disturbances closer to home in the Caribbean,Gulf and around the Bahamas.

The atlantic will carry on being hostile for the rest of the season, it will end up being like 2006, happy waiting because hurricanes just wont happen , yes i know i'm sticking my neck out on this one and there will obviously be raised eybrows and a few comments made but its just my personal opinion thats all

Well I highly doubt that will verify but I hope you're right. I'd like to have another summer without life being disrupted by a major hurricane.

NRL is backlogged. 96L has not been on the backup for days.

I think the waves for the most part have looked very good, going back to May. While they haven't developed, I think they've held together better than they often do.

I'm gonna repeat my question from earlier, Is it possible to cut back on the use of the punctuation a bit? There's no real need for it. Thanks.

Statistically speaking July (EARLY July, specifically) hasn't been active (sans 2005). Even in 2004 we didn't get Alex until July 31.
