If I remember right, there was a thread right before Katrina about how the season was going to be a dud.This happens every year, a few weeks of nothing and everybody loses their horses.

Like a few of the others have said, just enjoy this while it lasts because who knows what is in store for us in the coming months.

I agree - the east coast trough continues (it's on a brief hiatus, but, is expected back in 2 or 3 days), and, along with the eastward placement of the Bermuda high, and the ongoing strong shear in the Caribbean, makes this season to at least appear that it will be not as active than many had "officially" forecast earlier this year...

Tells you how far we have to go when it comes to long range tropical forecasts. Most everyone was trying to justify a "busy" season based on a impending La Nina.

Still in the infancy stage when it comes to long range forecasting.

At the time of the original post in the thread... two TY's were in the WPAC (Mindulle & Tingting). Though the ATL was quiet, the tropics as a whole, were certainly not.
