Quiet Time in the Atlantic Basin Reflections ....

#1 Postby jaxfladude » Tue Jul 10, 2007 9:03 pm

Would you rather be bored to death with nothing to watch or being scared to death with a major hurricane aiming at the area where you live or someone you love cared about or a/some fellow Strom2k forum members?
Just relax and enjoy the fact that no one in the Atlantic Basin is threaten as of yet(July 10th, 2007)
Pray that all major(if any)hurricanes are so-called "Fish".

Well I LOVE being bored so far.
People are chomping at the bit to see some action.
Exhibit the number of posts each time there is a simple little Invest!

No, while I am fascinated by Hurricanes and have been all my life; I relish the peace and quiet we have had and hope this is a hopelessly boring season!

But... if we didn't want storms to hit us, would there be people posting here? Unless they were really really paranoid that every little blob would become a Cat 5 hurricane, but I think we all know enough weather to know that's not true.

It's a double edged sword. Fish storms aren't going to attract a whole lot of people (there are exceptions, I included, but for most people, they don't care about a storm 1600 miles away affecting no one).

I am using the lull in activity to reflect on what else I need to prepare for before the action starts. Yesterday I took out my small portable TV w/radio to see if it still works, and of course it decided to break. Now I need to get another one soon. Anyway, although Hurricane's for me can turn into a very stressful event, I just take it as something that going to happen anyway, so I just basically go with the flow.

Honestly, being a hurricane aficionado, and having never experienced a hurricane, I'm actually up for a hurricane any time.

Boredom over personal tragedy any day of course...but i am fascinated with storms and thoroughly enjoy tracking them as they develop and grow. I look forward to reading the amazing insights, analysis, and forecasts from this site. So I can say with total honesty, I am looking forward to getting down to some good storm tracking this season!
