CMC model tropical wave and ULL at 27n 65w

#1 Postby boca » Thu Jul 19, 2007 10:25 am

the CMC model thats been developing a system off the Carolinas the last few runs now. I'm wondering if its the combination of the tropical wave over near Puerto Rico and that ULL at 27n and 65w moving in tantem with the wave. I noticed that the ULL is having some northward pulll on the wave so I guessing that the CMC model is sniffing out this possible senario.

The CMC is the Jimmy Spencer of Global Models. It has developed a TC on about half its runs the last 3 weeks or so.

It was the first to call T.S. Barry, but I guess if it has the lowest threshold for developing TCs, it wouldn't be unusual if it is first to spot the real thing.
