Dean to hit Louisiana? Opinions?
I am an active hurricane/tropics watcher. I keep seeing these high and low pressures that could steer Dean more NW towards La. Although- computer models are not. What are yalls opinions?

At this present time I don't anyone knows where Dean is going. The safest thing to do is just watch and be prepare if you live along the Gulf Coast.

I did learn these storms have a mind of their own, learned this lesson from Opal 1995. I just hope wherever it goes everyone will be safe.

The GFDL agrees with you.

The rapid wind speed and future deepening in pressure should allow the storm to be ~bullist to taking the storm to any weakness. 'Stronger storms more poleward'. I think the west edge of Cuba will be more likely hit than Yac---. Since 'Hazel' and almost all EC storms go poleward when possible IMHO. I will not state which 'state' but U.S. is in it's path IMO. WV does not look good for a straight west run. I feel for gulf, I have been under the gun many times in Wilmington, NC to Charleston, SC over the years.
