I'm in Hong Kong airport on my way back to Shanghai after intercepting typhoon Sepat in Taiwan. We managed to punch into the eyewall documenting ferocious winds and then river floods of biblical proportions. Taiwan has mountains which shoot straight out of the Pacific Ocean up to about 12,000ft (4000m). Sepat dumped up to 900mm of rain over this area and the aftermath was insane.

Wow. Amazing footage. Thanks for posting it. I wish more people would watch extended footage like that rather than just the sound bites we get on the news. Maybe then, if they've never had to go through it themselves, they would take the threat these storms pose a little more seriously. And the footage of the flooding really drives home what the aftermath can be like depending on landfall location geography etc. Thanks again for the great work!

That's just what I'm trying to do. Give people the chance to see all aspects of these storms especially from a part of the world which most people don't even realise get affected. It's only mid August so the Wpac has plenty more of these mosnters to contend with yet!
