high latitude, yes... but its been persistant as hell. It appears to be at least something subtropical. I don't think anyone's paid this attention with all the all invest activity.

I can't believe the NHC is looking at this because of the LAT. Nonetheless, it has been persistant and producing convection around the center.

This low now is at about 42 to 43°N and I remember a few systems named in this region or only a little to the south of this region. So why not have a look at this system?

If you look closely there seems to be some kind of inflow toward the center of the low pressure denoted by weak convective bands.

The models dissipate this in less than 48 hours, by the way. It's just a weak low, nothing to get excited about.

PROS: Small system, doesn't looked attached to a front, convection near center

CONS: Very high latitude, marginal SST, weak convection

All that Recon would be looking for is a warm core...and where would they fly out of for there? It is way too far away from the US.

That's why is said "j/k" at the end. It wouldn't make sense to send RECON to a low pressure system that is only a shipping menace at most.
