Upper Low

#1 Postby OtherHD » Sat Jun 28, 2003 10:24 pm

The Upper Low is starting to scare me. It doesn't appear to be in any hurry to move or weaken, as the NHC has suggested it would. Any comments?

You're right ... the Upper low is exactly in any hurry to move out just yet .. however, I've noticed at the same time ... the ULL is enhancing convection over the Yucatan at the same time ... due to diffluence ...

Also, note the high cloud canopy over the Eastern Gulf spreading northwestward as well ... some indications that retrograding is taking place from the East ... also the ULL is being pinched by an anticyclonic spin in Mexico and another anticyclonic turn is noted over the NW Caribbean/near Western Cuba ... displaced NE of the actual LLC (which is still on land) ...

Interesting, there is an upper level low, not far from an upper level high making things even more complex with this tropical low over the Yucatan.
