Norcross leaving TV
Don't know if someone has posted this yet, but Bryan Norcross is leaving TV in order to work more on his AEN project with Max. After 25 years, Bryan will step out of the TV spotlight to run a true disaster network that will hopefully help in ways never before seen in this country.

I remember when Bryan started out. We moved away for many years and settled back in Palm Beach County out of the Miami TV area. When we had Frances and Jeanne, one of the local cable stations picked his station up and he was great.
I also relied on going to his station's website to watch his forecasts.
He will truly be missed and was amazing during Andrew (I was not here but have the video record of it).
Sorry that Miami is losing his on-air talent and I hope he is successful in the new endeavor and returns to the air waves once again

Bryan is one of the last of the old group to leave - if I'm not mistaken, only John Gerard (NBC6) remains of the '80s and '90s group of OCM's in the Miami market...
Glad to hear that both Bryan and Max are involved with the AEN - may it be used as little as possible...
Frank
P.S. Some might not know this, but, Bryan's old college roommate was once a Meteorologist at the Miami WSFO - I believe he and his wife moved north again due to the lack of snow (LOL)...

Bryan Norcross was a great replacemnet during our time in the Lower Keys for "Doc" Neil Frank back here in Houston. His daily updates and forecasts on US ! Radio were so important to those of us that lived in "Paradise".

Arguably the finest met on TV, he will be missed, but this project is certainly worth it.

OT, but didn't know there was a former lower Keys resident here, a Piner?

Actually, Newtown in KW on the Riviera Canal. We miss our time on our boats, but needed to get back to Houston for family reasons. Note the pic in my avatar. Taken just West of Sunset Key. Now, back on Topic

Re: Norcross leaving TV
Brian is a very interesting, very smart guy with an amazing ability to communicate with ordinary people and to cut through the blather to what's important.
I met him just once at a bookstore appearance in the Keys when he talked about his hurricane guide and answered questions for over two hours. I was rolling my eyes at some of the "hurricane modification device" fans. I would have laughed at them, but he gave very patient, intelligent answers.
