will a sudden EL NINO develop in 2008?

just like in 2006, there was a sudden EL NINO that inhibit tropical cyclone activity... will this happen in 2008? what do you think... and also how is the SAL for this year?

is there such a thing as a sudden el nino? It is more of an evolution, than, say, a cold front sweeping through. Now if you are talking the 2009 season, that's another story...and a more realistic timetable.
