Question re Louisiana Landfall of Hurricane Andrew

#1 Postby sfgal » Sat Aug 30, 2008 9:10 pm

My parents live in BR and their house was almost destroyed in Andrew. (An old live oak tree fell on the house). Did Andrew come in east or west of Vermillion Bay? I cannot remember, and the archived maps have such a small map of Louisiana that I cannot tell the exact landfall point. If someone could link a map with the track before and after the Louisiana landfall, I'd greatly appreciate it. I just want to get a feel for how Andrew compares to the projected path of Gustav. Thanks!
