East Atlantic (Last ATL Talking Tropics Thread of 2008?)

#1 Postby Ed Mahmoud » Sat Oct 25, 2008 12:34 pm

I kind of doubt it develops, especially where Canadian shows it. But, hey, it isn't quite ice storm season in Texas

The 12Z GFS of yesterday forms, then dissipates, a possible tropical depression near 10ºN and 40ºW. That might get tagged an invest, if we're lucky.

Satellite loop shows something...

GFS kind of losing it on 0Z run, but Canadian, and well, it is the end of October, gotta grab excitement where it can be found until Texas snow season starts, has a system approaching the Lesser Antilles.

Ice storm season in Texas? Not quite, and as long as one global, even the Canadian, shows something, and there is a thunderstorm cluster anywhere over water not ice covered, we can keep talking Atlantic tropics for another week or two, and comfort ourselves with the odd December storm of years past.

Then in March, someone will start the "75 Days to 2009 Hurricane Season" thread, and it'll start all over again.

One thing, just to show what a 64-1 kind of longshot this is, not even Joe Bastardi has mentioned it.
