Remnants of Danny? what is that near 30n 50w?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Remnants of Danny? what is that near 30n 50w?

Just curious and Joe B mentioned Danny's remnants again today. Whatever that is at 30n 50w seems to have both spin and convection and is moving west.

Could Be

On the last image that I saved, I showed Danny's remnant swirl near 35N/40W on the 23rd. It was moving southward to the east of the ridge. I haven't followed the remnants over the past 4-5 days, but this small circulation neare 32N/50W does appear to be Danny making a come-back. It's in about the right area. I would say that this system has the greatest chance of development of any disturbance in the tropics over the next 48hrs.

I should point out, however, that average surface pressures in that area are 1026mb. But if TD 7 can have a pressure of 1017-1018mb and hurricane Danny had a 1009mb central pressure (yeah, right!), then maybe Danny as a TD would be capable of a 1024mb central pressure?

Oh, and here's a picture I just saved. METARS are in blue (That's Bermuda to the left), ships/buoys are in yellow. Ignore the 100kt wind plot north of the swirl.

That's interesting that you brought that up, wxman57. Remember, NHC had Danny at 1005mb with 65kts ... both which I kinda silently questioned...since it looked stronger and probably deeper ...

But as you have eluded to, environmental pressures are generally very high in that region ...
