Hello, all.
A long-time lurker who posts seldom. I know we're busy tracking a still-serious storm, but just wanted to go on record while events are fresh.
There are many "great minds', tropically speaking, on this great site. I"m not one of them, although I've tracked countless storms over the past 40 years or so, but few have confused me as yestreday's motion by Earl. I simoply cannot justify Earl's movement with the steering chart posted yesterday (500 mb heights).
Once this storm has departed, and all (hopefully!) are safe, would someone please look back and revisit this storm track? The end of the season will be fine, if necessary, although I will admit to being very curious. I hate mysteries...
Best wishes to all in this storm's path, and the paths of those still to come this season.
Regards,
Chuck
