Yesterday Haiti was hit by an unexpected storm causing a number of deaths. Does anyone have any information on this and why there was no warning of it?
"Several people have been killed by a sudden storm in Haiti, as the country still tries to recover from January’s earthquake.
The storm swept through the capital Port-au-Prince, tearing roofs off houses, uprooting trees and electric pylons, and flooding several districts.
Thousands of tents put up as emergency shelters after the quake have been destroyed". SOURCE: euronews.net

Re: Sudden Storm in Haiti - anyone have any more news?
Apparently it was just thunderstorms, but in an area like that the smallet storms can have a large amount of damage
From the AP:
The death toll from Friday afternoon's storm stood at five people, including two children, and hundreds of people were reported with varying degrees of injury, Civil Protection chief Marie Alta Jean-Baptiste told The Associated Press.
Preliminary U.N. estimates had more than 2,000 tents damaged or destroyed; international shelter officials said that number could rise beyond 5,000 when assessments are complete.
