i think ida was pretty much a joke by the time it limped onto the gulf coast. i don't even recall any reports of ts conditions onshore. it was far worse when it later morphed into norida and blasted the mid atlantic. the logical thing to do is bet against a gulf tc in november. powerball-esque, kate-like exceptions notwithstanding, they don't do well. absent a change and soon, the season is over for the entire gulf.
