Yep, breaking news. The NHC director and control have all been given to Storm2k members. Our own cycloneye was named the Director, replacing Bill Read.
Also other weather bloggers have been given control of regional directions. The reason: it is time to get into the 21st century of weather messaging.

I just got the email. Some of the members, including myself, who are also on Wikipedia have been announced as taking control of the reanalysis project. Apparently this is the result of the country's deficit reduction plan released last year.

I wouldn't mind being in a position within CARCAH at the NHC so that Epac monsters could get recon during their peak instead of when it's on the verge of weakening to a TS.
