Good Morning fellow Storm 2K'rs

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Thu Sep 04, 2003 8:07 am

Good Morning chatters.. As some of you know I joined last night so today is my 1st full day on the board...

This is my honest opinion... If Henri continues to move this slow.. Wind could become as much of a problem as rain because if it's only moving at 2 mph.. that means it only moves 6 miles every 3 hours which could mean it has a chance to strengthen in the Gulf before it makes landfall somewhere between Cedar Key and Tampa..

I'm going to say that the storm gets up to around 55mph winds when it makes landfall... and again my god can the weather men just pronounce it like "Henry with a I instead of a Y" lol

I have never heard anyone be so respectful about my opinion lol.. Tell all those TROLLS OVER AT GO PBI where they can go.. lol

Henri should be coming by 11 am I believe if not by 2 pm... and also the SPC should begin to consider issuing tornado watches cause I'm down here and it's a beautiful day but we've been warned we may have both the seabreeze collision and Henri to deal with...

Can you say SEVERE WEATHER...

Good morning Josephine96 the difference from gopbi to storm2k is the family type enviroment that we have here. :)

We will have Henri the 8th later today if it continues to organize today and it will be a slow mover so the main threat will be plenty of rain for portions of the floridan penninsula that may not need it.

I know what you mean about Gopbi, I posted there a few months ago, but left because of all the tension. I was very glad to find the nice environment over here at storm2k. :D

and Thunder for your welcome...

I think "On-ree" will make landfall somewhere around Crystal River... down here it's a beautiful morning which somewhat concerns me because I know I'm well inland and this storm probably won't get TOO strong.. but if he grows in size before he arrives it'll cause more problems.. Orlando mets this morning saying 3-5 inches of rain and possible tornado touchdowns.. we shall see...

The soon-to-be "On-ree" (hehe  ) will probably get to moderate TS strength (50 or 55 MPH) prior to landfall, IMO. But winds will not be as big of a factor as the flooding rains. With how slow this system is moving, someone could wind up with over 10" of rain from this system, which will certainly cause a problem! :o
