This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Noticed another Storm2k poster brought this up earlier tonight and found the correlation.

ALSO...WATER VAPOR IMAGERY INDICATES THAT MID-/UPPER-LEVEL
DRY AIR HAS BEEN PUNCHING INTO THE SYSTEM FROM THE SOUTH. HOWEVER
...MOISTURE FROM A LARGE THUNDERSTORM COMPLEX OVER THE YUCATAN MAY
GET DRAWN INTO THE SYSTEM IN ABOUT 12 TO 18 HOURS WHEN THE SHEAR IS
ALSO FORECAST TO WEAKEN SLIGHTLY. THIS MAY ALLOW CONVECTION TO
DEVELOP AND PERSIST NEAR THE LOW-LEVEL CENTER...AND ALSO ALLOW THE
DEPRESSION TO REACH TROPICAL STORM STATUS. HOWEVER...IT APPEARS
THAT IT WILL BE ROUGHLY 24 HOURS OR SO BEFORE THE DEPRESSION CAN
BECOMES "HENRI THE 8TH"...TROPICAL STORM OF THE SEASON.

Well, right now, the "Henri the 8th" defintely looks like it has had his head scalped, or as ALHurricane put it, a convective haircut.

That is funny.

But also... Wow! I mentioned in the chatroom last night that the (convection) moisture from the large thunderstorm complex moving northward off the Yucatan may get drawn into the system and aid in development of Tropical Depression 12. 8-)

I thought Henri was pronounced "An-ree"? Thought the spelling was a french name.

Yes, Linda... Henri is pronounced, "An-ree" and yes it is a French name.

That makes, "Henri the 8th" even funnier.

Yes you did!

NHC is probably getting alittle punchy with all of the different storms out there. :)
