Hey guys,
I asked this same question the other day but I should have waited until now to ask it. But look I keep seeing on the Weather Channel that currently as I type this, a huge trough is approaching the state of Washington on the WestCoast. When I look at the Weekly Planner that same trough is forecast to be digging very deep in the midwest right near New Mexico/Texas at about Thursday or Friday timeframe. Now by Friday, Isabel is forecast to be near Puerto Rico. If this huge trough continues to move toward the East Coast(as it is forecast to do) then it will most likely have some kind of impact on where Isabel goes since it will continue to move towards the East Coast. Am I being fooled by the Weather Channel or should I just take a chill pill and wait what happens? I just thought I should bring it up.

Blocked in Mid West
The models more or less leave the trough stalled out in the mid west with a partial assult on the Bermuds high in 8-9 days according to the GFS guidance.
The most recent GFS run cuts off a 500MB low and deposits it into the ridge on day 9 to 10, but the trough itself is not expected to advance on the east coast ridge anytime soon.
Gonna be an interesting 10 day period for many I think...

Along with the ridge in the Atlantic the cold front moving in to the Pacific Northwest may play a role in Hurricane Isabel's ultimate track. With the frontal system around 3,000 miles away and Isabel about 3,000 miles from southern Florida, anything is possible as we go through this week into next.
