I think we are, my entire linen closet is filled w/ water, (I dont have enough linens to fill two shelves in there, so I put it to good use 
) Dh and I went to Costco last nite (mainly because were having company the end of the week,) but I know better. Stocked up on alot of dried fruit (did you know they make dried mango, it is to die for)nuts, crackers, trash bags, etc, we have a good amount of propane so I think well be ok in that area. How about everyone else?

OOps sorry, forgot to add something, my dh and I yardsale ALOT and what we find interesting is that alot of people selling their coolers, maybe they have new ones, I dunno, but I have a total of 7, all different sizes, and we got those on trash day. (yucky gross I know, but they are all in great shape!. Also if youre tight on bucks, the thrift stores always carry candles (I know will use flashlight over a candle first) esp with Christmas comming, the holiday stuff is out now, so check it out.

We purchased a couple of camping showers at Walwart to fill them if we think a storm will get close. It gets very hot and muggy (and salty if you're close to the coast) just after a hurricane. Nothing feels better than a good scrubbing. I also have put together a port-a-potty made from a 5 gal. pail with lid. I keep a mixture of chlorine and water in a jar and t-t inside. It also has a handle for easy traveling! After a week without water, sewer & electricity following Luis, we learned a lot of valuable lessons. Of course, we have the standard items and I have been adding each year as I hear another good idea.
BTW, we are back from our two weeks in St. Maarten and dodged Fabian-just hoping Isabel misses there and here as well. Now we sit and wait in SW Florida.

I just wanted to take it a step further and be mobile if needed. I drive a tractor trailer local so I am home every nite. There is that chance I could be at work and conditions might not allow me to make it home by the time I got back from my run. I thought I might share the BOB idea in case others had not thought of it. I would think that most of us are well stocked as it is. I would like to avoid our local shelters if possible. My wife and kid would go and leave me to tend to our animals as well Lindaloo.

I've heard them say on the radio that the Houston area meets all 9 criteria for being a terrorist target. Still haven't found out what all 9 are (large city, port, oil refineries) and they don't list them all. Guess it's definitely a good idea to have my hurricane stuff ready all year. And I have an NBC suit.
