Wait for tonight's gulfstream jet data

#1 Postby cycloneye » Sat Sep 13, 2003 9:01 am

What the data from that flight may bring to the models tonight will be important for us and for the folks of NHC and as that data is recieved then the models can digest the information and then a more clear picture can be drawn so let's wait until tonight.

What can we expect that data to tell us? With Fabian, did it not just very what the NHC has been saying and what the models had been producing all along. Can we expect a significant change in forecast after this data comes in? And how the heck do I translate ZULU time, that one has been bugging me for years!

Does that mean the data will be ingested for the 11:00 statement tonight?

I would like to think that it would be in by 11pm tonight, but it takes some time for the jet to get out there, collect the data and for the data to be processed, so if not by 11, by 5am tomorrow we should have a MUCH better idea. IMHO
