Need Help with Browser and National Hurricane Center Website

#1 Postby PerfectStorm » Wed Jul 02, 2014 9:51 am

Hi all, long time member and reader. I am using Win 7/Chrome/Firefox Browser and all of the sudden I cannot access the National Hurricane Center Website - http://www.nhc.noaa.gov. Its weird. I get a message that:

Oops! Google Chrome could not find http://www.nhc.noaa.gov Try reloading: www.nhc.noaa.gov" for Google Chrome

And

Server not found-Firefox can't find the server at http://www.nhc.noaa.gov.: www.nhc.noaa.gov for Firefox Mozilla

Anybody got any ideas as to why this is happening? Running Norton 360/Computer is clean etc.

Thanks,

PerfectStorm

I'm having an issue as well, but likely entirely different. I'm able to access those sites, but recently noticed that I could no longer use Flashplayer due to some issues with my having an android phone and perhaps Google (or Samsung, or Verizon ??) not supporting Adobe's Flash Player. Now, I'm struggling to watch radar or satellite loops because I cant use java or flash....

Chaser you can download an older version of flash. That is what I have done.

Almost sounds like security settings of some type blocking them.

I've been having this same issue, although I thought it was BrightHouse internet. At times, I cannot access any of the gov't websites (NOAA, NHC, WPC, CPC, OPC, ect) while on my home internet. That includes all three main browsers, laptop and mobile. The one catch there is that they almost always work when I switch from wifi to mobile data. That's the main reason I called BrightHouse, and afterwords the problem alleviated itself somewhat but not completely.

I have Brighthouse too so will check into that. Yes, I can also access the mobile version at times too. Appreciate the comments!
