Latest recon fix at 0642z

Isabel centered at 24.5N and 68.9W....central pressure 940 mb and max flight level winds in the sw eyewall only 99 kts (114 mph)....much weaker than the 116 to 120 kt winds from earlier today. I haven't seen the outbound wind data from the NE eyewall, but venture an educated guess of 130 kts....or 150 mph.

My prediction: she brushes North Carolina and lands in Delaware as a weak Cat 1. Go ahead and laugh but I bet she turns into a "dud". I mean that in a relative sense because of course major flooding is a good possibility regardless, and lives could be lost.

The good news? This could be the only event witnessed in Delaware for the entire century. Not hurricane event, any event. When's the last time you heard of anything happening in Delaware?
