#1 Postby WXBUFFJIM » Wed Sep 17, 2003 8:42 am

A mandatory evacuation has been issued for 11 am edt in the Virginia Beach coastal area and in areas near the Chesapeake Bay. Hotel guests are likely going to have to leave the VAB waterfront. Once again a mandatory evacuation has been ordered for the coastal areas of Virginia Beach including the Sandbridge area starting at 11 AM EDT. All low lying coastal areas in NC/VA has also been ordered to evacuate.

Most everyone in the outer banks have also been ordered to leave. Mandatory Evacuations are expected to conclude in the outer banks at around 7 pm edt.

Emergency shelters will open at 4 pm today in various locations around Vab and the Hampton Roads area.
