Hey WXman...if you are around anywhere...I wondered if you can do me a HUGE favor? I gave you my zip code the other day and you did the wind forecast thing for me....I'm sure that those predictions have changed since then...is there ANY way that you could possibly do it again for me??? With the new data that you have now?? I am in a state of panic here....this whole hurricane/tornado/wind thing IS my biggest phobia/fear come to life and I'm about to lose it right now...and the thing isn't even here yet! My zip code is 25401...I would appreciate this SOOO much!! Thanks!
Nancy

Nancy, the wind profile won't give you an accurate reading because we purposely over-extended the 60 mph wind radius from the track position west of Baltimore to reach the northern Chesapeake, but we don't think those 60 mph winds will be INLAND in your area. That's why we do a manual forecast for our customers. I think you'll probably see 40-50 mph sustained winds there with maybe some gusts to 70-80. But I'm really not so sure how much Isabel's winds will really carry that far inland without any strong convection.

With your location being about 60-70 miles west of the track, you won't likely see much. Most of Isabel's large wind field will be right of the track. The profile just said a brief period of 40 mph sustained wind as the storm passes tomorrow afternoon. You'll be on the dry side, too.
