Yes it will rain in a big area,maybe some tornadoes,there will be a storm surge but having said that thankfully Isabel will not be that monster cat 5 hurricane when it was north of Puerto Rico but it will make landfall as a cat 1 bordering cat 2 but it would be a big disaster for NC and VA if she haven't been attacked by the dry air.

I have been thinking the same thing. High tide for the outer banks of NC up through VA Beach is early this afternoon. This could certainly make coastal flooding a BIG problem.
