It could haved been much worse for NC dry air saved them
Yes it will rain in a big area,maybe some tornadoes,there will be a storm surge but having said that thankfully Isabel will not be that monster cat 5 hurricane when it was north of Puerto Rico but it will make landfall as a cat 1 bordering cat 2 but it would be a big disaster for NC and VA if she haven't been attacked by the dry air.

Is Isabel a wet storm?
- Some of the worst Hurricanes have been Category 1-2 in that portion of the US.

I also don't think she will be as wet of storm as she could have been either. IMO
