Now suffering damage

#1 Postby ncweatherwizard » Thu Sep 18, 2003 2:03 pm

Power is out, but I am on laptop. Trees have fallen, snapped power line into yard with two large pines. Large oak 50 feet from house in danger in falling on house. Tree at neighbor's house causes some damage. Limbs everywhere. Flood waters rising. Got to go for now. I'll get back when I can.

Listening live on the link provided on WREL (THANK YOU, SCOTT!).

Kill Devils Hills - Sea Ranch Motel, unoccupied, being washed away now. Also, some pier....didn't catch the name of it....being damaged.

It's probably Avalon pier. Their webcam has been down for hours and it was looking rather...'unstraight'...

Get cover? He is in his house. I bet posting on his laptop is as much cover as he can get. What is he going to do, run for the hills? haha.

There are safer and more dangerous portions of a house. And, in many cases, there are neighbors homes to flee to.

This isn't a haha time.
