I got power back!

Well the power has come back on at my house, after going out around noon. Of course with my luck it came on as I was getting the generator to work lol. But I'm still here...no damage to house thankfully. Yard is a complete MESS (limbs, branches, and leaves EVERYWHERE). Means a ton of yardwork to be done this weekend. :cry:

As far as the storm itself was (should say HAS, still not over)...totally awesome if you're a storm lover. A lot of 50mph gusts. Fun for me. :)

From what I've heard on radio and TV, it seems like Isabel has done a lot of damage further east. I hope everyone who got more damaging conditions is okay.

Glad to hear you're okay, Supercane. And something to remember - the clean up afterwards can present just as much a risk as the actual storm. Like in a snowstorm, many people, particularly the elderly, have heart attacks and die from the exertion of cleaning up.

still gettin gusts upwards of 50 MPH here..... Limbs, Branches, leaves flyin across the yard.... trees snappin here and there..... still VERY dangerous

Yes glad to see your ok ..supercane..almost 650,000 people were without power..I heard :roll:

Thanks for "checking in", Supercane. Seeing people we have come to know here actually be impacted by a hurricane is a real eye-opener. Usually, we are speaking in the abstact and this is REAL! Glad to hear you are OK and don't envy you the yard work!

Glad to hear your Ok supercane... I remember having to clean up after Tropical Storm Gabrielle made a mess of us here back in 2001. The strange part is I didn't mind cleaning up. lol.. Mother nature can unleash a beast when she feels..

Glad your OK supercane, yard work can be a pain but at least your house is still standing and everyone is alright.

Thanks y'all. There's no way I'm going to enjoy the yardwork lol. Janswizard is right...cleaning up after a formidable hurricane can and does cause fatalities, unfortunately. Seems like everybody lost power, and some still don't have it back from what I've heard. And I definately don't consider this a crap storm, as a few have dubbed it due to its weakening days before landfall.

Glad you are ok and got the power back Supercane. We were without power for 7 days after Alicia. Had to move in with inlaws!!! :cry: :wink: At least we had somewhere to go.

I figure that 650,000 could easily pass 1M as Isabel progresses N especially with the presuure gradient because of the ridge N of her. Just heard of a tornado warning for downtown Norfolk. Not good!

:cry: First hugo 1989: almost 3 months without power, wihout phone and water for a century lol :cry:
