I've been watching that area with some interest also. Less convection this AM, but wouldn't expect anything less at this point. Nothing organized for sure. At least something to watch and keep us busy. Thinking we should see a couple more features this season in the gulf.

It's been pursistent for the past 2 days. Shear is supposed to begin to relax. It's something to keep our eyes on....

The Gulf probably will have a few more features... I think it's still too early to say it won't.. {not saying somebody said it won't..} but a lot of November storms are in the Gulf..

I think that the GOM is what us Floridians have to worry about and look out for...

A low has formed near the TX./MX. south border just along the coast. This low will have to be watched, especially if it slips eastward and convection persists. A Tropical Wave now moving westward near Jamaica could interact with this low/trough come early part of the up-coming week and begin to develop something mid next week as the front sweeping over the CONUS drapes down there as well and stalls, leaving more energy. Once the shear begins to relax we could see more favorable conditions for all this to organize.

This is just a possibility at this point, but something to keep an eye on over the next several days.

After all the rain we got in June and July, I never thought I would be hoping for at least some tropical showers but we need them now. It is getting awfully dry again. The GOM is predicted for more action this season and we will just have to WAIT AND SEE! Seems we have been doing alot of that this season. Plenty of sleepless nights and apprehension.
