More Flooding for Texas next week????????

#1 Postby KatDaddy » Sun Sep 21, 2003 5:38 pm

Wow. Quite a lot of rain for S and SE TX over the last few days. Picked up almost 5" since yesterday hear in League City. Much more rain fell in Matagorda, Brazoria, Galveston, and Chambers Counties......5-8". Even more rain in S TX.......10-15" over 4 days.

I believe Hurricane Marty will bring flooding rains to TX again by mid-week. The Texas AFDs waffle dramatically with the Hou-Gal AFD saying it will be dry all week and San Antonio AFD saying look out....more rain.

We are completely saturated along the Upper TX Coast.

I am almost ready to give the all clear for this hurricane season for TX with the strong Westerlies overtaking Texas.

As I said almost ready. The potential still exist even though it is very slight over the next 3 weeks.

I remember Juan October 27th 1985 and Jerry October 17, 1989. Lets not forget Oct 1, 1949......135MPH Freeport, Texas which moved rapidly N from the BOC.

The least expected can always happen and Sept has been relatively quiet.
