Funniest TWC moments

#1 Postby weatherluvr » Thu Sep 25, 2003 1:37 pm

For some reason I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I'm sure there are other moments I'm forgetting but these are the 3 that stand out:

3: Mike Seidel getting blown away during Isabel. Okay, technically it was on MSNBC, but it was an OCM so I'm counting it here.

2: Sometime in the '80's they had a special on hurricanes, hosted by Jeanetta Jones and John Hope, which included a call-in segment from viewers. Well, the calls had some of the stupidest questions I've ever heard, like someone wanting to know the name of the hurricane that dropped all that snow on Lake Michigan, and what was the hurricane that sunk the Edmund Fitzgerald... John Hope patiently answered all the questions, although secretly I'm sure he wanted to bash his head against a wall somewhere. At the end of the show, they're panning back, and Jeanetta turns to John and starts laughing, as if to say, "What a bunch of idiots!" While John, realizing they were still on the air, sat there stoically. God bless you, John.

And #1: Way back, they had Charile Welch, Gay Dawson, and Ray Ban in the studio, and Charlie, maybe losing his train of thought, says, "And here with the forecast... Gay Ban." The look on Ray's face was priceless! "Uhh, that's Ray Ban, Charlie."

I think the MSNBC thing was very stupid..and not funny at all..

MSNBC put Mike on the spot just being there..These unqualified TV crews in the field is total disrespect for the emergency management system..Leave it to the few Pros with no other agenda than weather and not shock TV.

Having people on TV just minimizes the seriousness of the situation..laugh now.. cry later

IMHO

It's only funny because he wasn't hurt... kind of like one of those AFV's situations... we can cringe at first, but laugh about it later.
